Supporting the Work Between Appointments
Psychology-informed collaboration that helps patients translate medical guidance into sustainable daily action.
Where Medical Care Meets Daily Life
A thoughtful medical plan is only the beginning. Its success depends on a person's ability to understand it, integrate it into daily life, and sustain it over time.
Stress, sleep disturbance, emotional overwhelm, cognitive load, family responsibilities, and established behavior patterns can affect follow-through.
Alchemy by the Sea® provides psychology-informed support that helps patients translate medical guidance into sustainable daily action.
Medical expertise guides treatment. Human behavior shapes what happens between appointments.

When collaboration may help
Collaboration may be helpful when the medical plan is appropriate, but behavioral, emotional, physiological, or practical barriers are making implementation difficult.
-
The patient understands the recommendations but is struggling to follow through
-
Stress is affecting sleep, eating, energy, or concentration
-
A complex care plan feels overwhelming
-
The patient is adapting to a diagnosis or health transition
-
Multiple recommendations need to be organized into realistic steps
-
Family, caregiving, or professional demands are interfering with recovery
How collaboration works
Clarify
Clarify recommendations, organize priorities, prepare questions, and translate medical guidance into practical next steps.
Support
Develop realistic routines, address barriers, and support sustainable follow-through.
Coordinate
When appropriate and authorized in writing, communicate with the physician to support continuity and shared understanding.
Alchemy by the Sea® supports implementation and follow-through. The physician remains responsible for all medical diagnoses and treatment decisions.
For Physicians and Patients
For Physicians
Physicians may consider collaboration when a patient understands the treatment plan but continues to struggle with consistent implementation.
The work is collaborative but clearly bounded. Alchemy by the Sea® does not diagnose medical conditions, direct medical care, modify treatment recommendations, prescribe or manage medication, or serve as a case manager.
For Patitents
Patients may also inquire directly when they need additional support understanding recommendations, organizing a care plan, preparing for appointments, or creating sustainable routines.
Coordination with an existing physician or healthcare team occurs only with the patient’s written authorization.

Begin the Conversation
A brief inquiry helps determine whether Physician Collaboration is appropriate and where to begin.
All inquiries are confidential. Communication with healthcare professionals occurs only with appropriate authorization. Not all inquiries result in engagement.
This work is consultative and educational. It is not psychotherapy or medical treatment.
